Bill: Creation of "Log-A-Rhythm Industries"

Details

Submitted by[?]: Beluz Democratic Karavist Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: August 3322

Description[?]:

If this bill is passed, the government will open (and temporarily fund) a private corporation under the name "Log-A-Rhythm Industries" which will be responsible for the production of simple wooden products, and the maintenance of natural parks and reserves. It will be environmentalist-based, and its board is expected to send environmentalist lobbyists to the government's doors every now and then. It's not unlikely that the company will seek to help in replanting efforts, or the maintenance of tolled hiking paths.

This will bring a boost to the areas of:
- Education & Culture
- Environment & Tourism

--

It will be privately run.
It will be funded by the government until it is sold.

MessageIt's interesting to see the Tory terrorists are against economic development in Beluzia, especially with an industry that makes money without the over-consumption of resources.

Parks and hiking paths, whether public/free, or tolled, are a benefit to everyone. They serve to provide scenic outlooks and connection with nature.
Tolled areas provide an extra channel of currency flow that keeps the economy alive. Self-sufficient natural parks are good, but looking further, do we rule out the possibility of profitable ones?

It's obvious that the Tories are against:
- the creation of more jobs
- tax cuts as a result of increased government funds from other sources of revenue
- life, and anything natural
- consumer demands
- tourism income

MessageIt is not the Governments job to act as an investment agency and spend its people's money on private enterprise.

MessageWhat a stupid remark from the family members of the House of Atreides.

How is money being "spent" as you say?
We intend to sell the company.

There are many government companies already - this will just be another public sector company until it is sold. It is not private until it is sold, and when it is "sold" we would have received money for it.
