MessageThe NDP opposes this act. Let us elaborate:
Article 1 allows private oraganisations to follow a course of blatant racism. It is unacceptable in our country. The freedom of private oraganisations to choose how they will run themselves does not extend so far.
Article 2 constitutes a violation of freedom of speech.
Article 4 is likely to pose a major security risk. Just because someone is not deranged or has not YET committed a serious crime does not mean that they will not endanger public safety in future.
Article 5 means that a disparate system of maintainence for major roadways will lead to major traffic problems.
Article 6 will allow private enterprises to operate irresponsibly, which will have a severe and negative impact on our economy.
Article 7 will obviously lead to death, but will also increase violence in general. Murderers may also claim that they were duelling.
Article 8 poses a major security risk. We do not want violent extremist gangs roaming the streets legally.
Article 11 will be extremely unpopular with the electorate, and may cause economic repercussions.
Article 13 vastly increases the government's interference with the free market, which we oppose.
Article 15 may lead to health problems if local governments do not properly regulate water quality.
The NDP therefore asks that the CRP abandon this bill.

Ask the experimenters why it is morally okay to experiment on animals, and the answer is: "Because the animals are not like us." Animal experimentation rests on a logical contradiction." - Charles R.
