Bill: The Dueling Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: House of Astredies
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: September 3324
Description[?]:
If two men have a disagreement then they are legally allowed to consentially fight each other. I see no reason why this should not be put up to the next level and allow consensual murder. The government has no right to keep this from happening. However to restrict people who aren't in sound mind and to keep it from becoming an excuse for murder I realize it needs to be regulated. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The legality of dueling.
Old value:: This matter is left for the local governments to decide upon.

Message | You don't have the right to tell other governments what to do. How would you like it if another nation told us what to do? Our citizens never elected them, did they? You have no jurisdiction over what takes place in Iliathar. Also, what point of view are you speaking from? You're not in the central government. The central government isn't obsessed with maintaining power of all the regions. Even if it was, you're not a part of it, so you shouldn't be the one complaining. Make laws where you have power (that is Iker Ado for now), but don't tell other parishes what to do. There's a reason you didn't win seats in Iliathar; the citizens think you're incompetent. We may not be the house with the most seats in the federal council, but we have at least 2 seats in every regional legislature. Do you have seats in every regional legislature? No, you don't. -- If this bill is passed because of the votes by other houses, which actually have seats in all the regions, we won't have a problem, but otherwise, it's a bill that is trying to declare that you have "power" over citizens whose parliament you're not a part of. I refer to the current seat standings: http://classic.particracy.net/viewnews.php?newsid=341155 |

Message | I created this bill because government as a whole has no right to ban it just as it has no right to ban euthenasia or drug use. |

Message | But you're only representing citizens from certain regions. By law, you are not representing citizens in Iliathar. They never elected your house any to seats; they have their own government to make their own laws. And you claim to be against the banning of Euthanasia, but may I remind you that your political husband believes otherwise? http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=345275 http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=345416 |
