MessageLet's not get ahead of ourselves. This bill proposes that essential structures become public, that is health, defence and energy. It creates a national bank, leaving of course the presence of private banks. And finally it suppresses the dreadful threat of paramilitary groups, and allows a fair administration to take place by appointing state employees in a non-political way. It also fills the gap in organ donation policy and enforces standards for foods and safety regulations.

This is no Stalinist bill, even though it would drive Vanuku towards a fairer society. There is to be no loss of freedom here, only justice.

This being said, we understand the grievances of the Imperialist Union, and are willing to revise these propositions, in the interest of building a Vanuku where all citizens feel their voice is heard. Therefore we propose to abstain on this bill, if the Imperialists and the Social-Democrats will agree to do the same. We can reconvene later and debate of the good of our nation.

MessageOOC: OOC stands for out of character, that means I do not voice the opinion of my party but just put my own personal comment there, since Stalinist does not exist in Particracy for example.

MessageOOC: No problem, just wanted to clear that up for you :)

------------------

And why would the government put their hands on essential structures? Our economy is stable and free, as the majority of the citizens prefer. Everyone is in good hands with the current welfare structure, there is no need to bankrupt the state by funding hospitals and what not.

And the dreadful threat of the paramilitaries is non existent. Currently our navy fights overseas, for our nation, for our honour and for our freedom. Who guards our homes? The Land Forces, the Imperial Guard, the Federal Guard and who else you ask? The Imperial Militia, bound in honour and by oath to serve and protect the Emperor and his people. A dreadful threat you say, I say proud defenders of a proud nation. To abolish that is not justice, it's inviting our enemies to conquer our lands.

We can agree on organ donation and the food and safety regulations, all else would bankrupt us or limit the rights of our free people. Our party will gladly abstain on this bill to avoid this to pass.

Sincerely,

Federal Chancellor of Vanuku,
Count Abraham Sitters

MessageOOC: Did Social-Democrats even read the discussion on here? Now I feel forced to vote no, because if I abstain the bill will still pass!

MessageThe IFS now stands in a difficult position. We will abstain for now and decide our vote on the issue when we reach a conclusion. We feel that multipartism remains a critical necessity and this bill now is about more than the policies discussed here. There is still time though.

MessageWe thank the IFS for their decision and hope they understand we feel obliged to vote no as long as the Social-Democrat fraction votes yes, if it was not for them we would've abstained this bill. We hope we can reform the state in mutual agreement in the coming years.
