Bill: High Count Title Amendment

Details

Submitted by[?]: Takanashi Clan

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: April 3333

Description[?]:

Federal Council of Nobles,

CONGRATULATING the success of the early elections after the decline of two noble houses of Beluzia.

THANKING the support for Takanashi Clan and its leader, Lady Aoi Takanashi,

NOTING that Lady Aoi Takanashi is female.

CONCERNED the current title of the High Count is for male.

BELIEVING a more gender-neutral title will be more appropriate, while preventing further amendment based on the gender of the elected High Count in the future.

Hereby,

CHANGES the title of High Count (Head of State of Beluzia) from "His Excellency, High Count" to "H. Excellency, High Count".

ENCOURAGES reference to Lady Takanashi as "Her Excellency, High Countess" in formal records specified of her, for a lack of a gender-neutral word for "Count" for an official change of title.

MessageIf there's a female Count, there's no reason why people should oppose changing it to 'Her Excellency, High Countess', until a male is elected as Count. But I don't see the proposed to be an improvement.

Random fact: Cabinet ministers who disagree seriously with the head of government would usually be expected to resign. Parties within the cabinet may attempt to manoeuvre to replace the head of government though, for example by proposing a new cabinet bill or voting for an early election.
