Message | This is an issue which divides the parties. While i know that the majority has already spoken, I feel that possibly that bill was pushed through by support for the first article, rather than the second, and that a compromise could be gained by legislating for this middle ground. Abortion very late in the pregnancy harms the mother both physically and psychologically, and as the foetus is a baby by then rather than a collection of cells it does raise moral questions about the soundness of the procedure. Besides, why would any woman decide after the second trimester that she wanted to abort, except in a medical emergency? |

Message | First off, moral grounds cannot be used to make laws, since many people define morality different. Secondly, different people have wildly different psychological tolerances, making that an insufficient basis for most laws. Physical harm is a more tangible effect than the two before. However, in the interest of holding to what we decided before, we will vote against this. Our position will change to this as of the next election. |
