Bill: Administrative Flag Fix Bill

Details

Submitted by[?]: Left Libertarian Alliance of Cats

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: August 3337

Description[?]:

OOC::: This is meant to be a fix, because our current flag link is no longer working.

IC:::

Context: Following 7 years of the previous Felis Supremis vetoing each attempt to clarify the current official flag of the Feline Homeland of Barmenia, we recently called for early elections so as to settle this issue. We thank the BLP for their help on this legislation:

Because our troops are in a state of relative calm right now (although hostilities remain simmering with some rival nations), the flag shall be restored to its peace version, persuant to bill http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=328577 . The existing flag shall continue to be used during periods when Barmenia is facing hostilities.

The Peace Flag was originally created by the Sacred Feline Alliance centuries ago. Some say that the cat pictured in the flag is the original Felis Supremis Bastet herself.

MessageStatement of the BLP,

Currently, our great nation does not have a national flag. The BLP believe that this fact harms our nation's national pride and international reputation. Although, our electorate is opposed to the Feline focused culture and want the former Democratic Republic of Barmenistan restored as we know it from about a couple of ages ago, we also find it very important to have a national flag as part of our common identity and to end the deadlock.

Therefore, my party decided to support this proposal. Of course, as soon as there will be realistic opportunity, the BLP will propose an alternative flag.

MessageThe Eredian Party finds validity in the arguments made by the BLP. While we disagree with feline culture, it is important to have some representative image of our nation. We'll still oppose this piece of legislation on philosophical grounds, but are happy to see agreement on this issue.
