Message | Mr. Speaker, It is with great sadness that I request members of the ILA to vote in support of this war act. This decesion was in no way easy. With the call from assistance by are Zardic friends I see no way to keep Luthori out of what will most likely be a harsh long conflict. A conflict which will see destruction and lives lost not seen in decades. However, the Empires forces will see Luthori and our allies victorous. No nation can withstand the might of Luthori's armed forces and the will power of her people, to see a conflict such as this won. I Yield William Ashburn ILA Chairman |

Message | Mr. Speaker, We believe we must organize our military, reduce the incredibly wrong spending on the part of the military and then we can proceed forward with wars. Norton Royceston, Party leader of the Luthori Imperial Union. |

Message | Mr. Speaker, Our military is the most disciplined, organised force on the face of Terra, and are justly feared by lesser nations. Part of the reason for this is that we - quite correctly - spend what is necessary to ensure they are the best. Not only are they the best equipped and the best trained, but the best fed and the best billeted. And so, Mr. Speaker, my colleagues and I are not fooled by the pretence of loyalty of the so-called Imperial Union. We recognise them as the catspaw of the vile Alliance of Terran Republics, and their desire to destroy this glorious Empire. We are not fooled. Neither is the Luthori public. I yield the floor. The Rt Hon Denis Carrington, Defence Secretary |

Message | OOC: I don't really know what the heck has been going on but several players have brought to my attention that Luthori claim's to have the worlds end-all-be-all military. This is far from the case, and I will gladly present them to you. The Imperial Union has a great point, and I will further emphasize on it. Claiming that "...Our military is the most disciplined, organised force on the face of Terra, and are justly feared by lesser nations..." Is an absolute lie. For multiple reason. Dorvik, nor any country for that matter would fear a country that is inactive and has a military that is unorganized, does not fill any specific role and for one outdated beyond recognition. Not a single player since Xanthos left has done work to Luthori and the moment you attempt to tell me you have laser and supjetfightertankflying airplanes is the moment I will lose absolutely all respect for you and the nation of Luthori. If you want to come to me and discuss a realistic defense budget and a realistic military, I will gladly help but until then I will campaign to have Luthori be made the laughing stock of the terran military world. If you were intelligent enough you'd come to recognize that I have a decent following when it comes to my goals for terras military. Now you claim that your the most disciplined, organized military on Terra? What programs do you use? Whats the history of Luthori? Do you understand where their military comes from, its history? No I do not believe you do, thus proving that point as invalid. You fail to realize while we might not roleplay similar to earth, we have to abide by which our human minds can fathom and a country that spends nearly 19% of their total GDP on defense. Do you know the problems that would bring in society? I understand Terra is not earth but you could not possibly fathom what the society would look like. I mean the most realistic option I can place forth is North Korea if we are forced to real world options, and NK isn't doing too well. and if you want to challenge Dorvik, I gladly give you the challenge. I can ensure you that Luthori will bow before the Dorvish military. I can ensure it. If you have problems with what I say, I will gladly take this to the forms. Luthori was once a proud nation which contributed to the particracy community and helped new players, you have become the laughing stock of the game and the joke of particracy. I once counted you among the players who could further this games legacy, I now count you among those who have lead it to disastrous ruin. -Farsun. |

Message | OOC: Of course we don't have the most powerful military in the world! It's jingoism and bluster. For heaven's sake, calm down. |

Message | OOC: No, because this is precisely the reason why people leave the game, and precisely the reason why Luthori is the current running joke of the game. I'm very calm, I'm giving you knowledge that you can use to permit your country to return to RP, because as of right now...rumor has it, that you are blacklisted. I cannot imagine Xanthos or even Bean seeing this and not having a problem with it. |

Message | OOC: No, you're not. You're making high-handed demands and wild accusations/threats to fit your pet project, on the basis of the fact that I'm RPing arrogant characters, and I haven't modified the Luthori defence budget. As for Xanathos - he set the defence budget at 3bn lower than the present one, and I upped it from that. As for being blacklisted, this is the first I've heard of it. |

Random fact: In order for a Cabinet bill to pass, more than half of the legislature must vote for it and all of the parties included in the proposed Cabinet must support it. If your nation has a Head of State who is also the Head of Government, then the party controlling this character must also vote for the bill, since the Head of Government is also a member of the Cabinet. If any of these requirements are not met, the bill will not pass. |
