Bill: Fixing luthori's education

Details

Submitted by[?]: Seosavists Republican party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 2153

Description[?]:

The private sector has failed!
This is in our best region
Education 363 / 1000
Some people have experienced primary education, but the majority remain uneducated. The few qualified workers can be seen deserting the country in a Brain Drain. The education system is in a shameful state.

MessageIs there a way to make public and private universities?

Also, is there a way to make the government fully subsidizes tuition for poor families? Because, frankly, we already have a 14 billion pound deficit; we can't really afford much.

MessageRzP: Yes to both questions

SRP: What about other tertiary education establishments, there are many important jobs, both in industry and commerce, that require tertiary education from non-university sources.

MessageState run universities? How could they ever gain the credibility of red brick universities?

MessageYeah but look at the education ratings in the regions, there isn't enough demand for universities and, as I hope you know, you can't have private supply without demand! Also there's no option just to fund the privately run universities which I would accept (so long as it was free at least for the poor).

MessageBut who's ever heard of such a thing as a state run university? Would the "degrees" be worth anything?

MessageWell, most of the top universities in Australia are state run, and many of the students are not from Australia. There are also international campuses connected to some of them (one in South Africa and one in South East Asia). Connected to the fact that a large number of Australian graduates seem to head overseas.

Many fine examples of state run universities where the degrees are recognised internationally.

MessageOkay then, that's that concern addressed. At least you're talking about Oz and not some backwater communist state like North Korea!

How do we pay for all this?

MessageWhy would I talk about a communist state, communism can't work due to human nature. Democracy is a better system.
