Bill: End the Sillyness Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Independent Capitalist Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill requests an early election. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline. Elections will be held immediately if the bill passes.

Voting deadline: July 2152

Description[?]:

Call early elections and purge all bills currently at vote back to the debate phase. None of Movement for Large Amounts of Sillyness's bills are worth a vote or even abstaining, which would hurt visibility. I will sacrifice possibly losing seats or Ultran's support, but it is needed.

MessageThis is fundamentally undemocratic! If, everytime we disliked a piece of legislation that was being voted upon, we called new elections, you would all call us fascists and laugh us out of parliament! THIS IS DISGUSTING! DISGUSTING!

MessageYour extremist bills will harm our viewpoints. If we abstain our visibilities will drop. Your "sillyness" and hiding behind extremism is nothing but a transparent scheme to harm us and for you to gain votes by you to vote on failing extreme bills in the direction Aloria wants while everyone else is hurt. *Some* people are sore losers...

MessageIC: New elections will not stop us from trying to vote on bills. Even if you call new, undemocratic, elections before any bills can pass you are merely harming Aloria and impeding progress or getting anything done. Our party, once appealing to the mainstream, has now made the choice to appeal to the masses who feel that the mainstream political system has abandoned them.

OOC: I became an extremist party because normality and moderation were getting boring, not because I'm a sore loser. I do everything in game without any sort of malice or ill-will.

MessageIC: The people want centrism and moderation. That is why the ICP is doing better than the FP/MLAS. The ICP is constantly on the rise, last election we won Ultran. However, your party is on the decline. Your number of seats decreased even when the amount it is out of changed from 400 to 600. Last election you did not have victory over any region as AGSP, SRP, and the ICP have taken much of your voter base. Early elections would not impede progress but merely stall and give you enough time to come to your senses.

OOC: And I turned against your party because I was tired of being pro-FP, not because of IC reasons. But I'm good at coming up with good IC reasons. With me, RPing hatred and political wars stay IC. This bill is to make things a bit more interesting and complicated...

MessageI think this is an illigitimate reason for new elections. If a party were inactivated, or their were empty seats in Parliament, then I would vote yes.

MessageFine, then. If our images and visibilities are hurt by voting no on trap bills, then it is not my fault at all, (or even MLAS's fault). It is the fault of those who voted down this bill...

MessageLet the people decide, that's what I say. if the people of Aloria want Silliness, they must have it. I don't think calling early elections is a long-term, or democratic, solution to your probles. You should call their bluff and propose some bills of your own.
