Bill: Policing Structure & Accountability Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: United Liberal Alliance
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: March 2153
Description[?]:
Whilst we believe that it is necessary to retain some form of national police force in order to provide border controls, security and conduct and coordinate national operations, we believe that the large majority oif day-to-day policing should be at a local level, with local police forces accountable to local government and local citizens. To this end we propose the restructuring of the National Police Service of Telamon into a more federally based structure, maintaining central control and capacity but devolving much decision making to local forces, to allow them to conduct operations and manage resources in the way that they want and not what a national headquarters wants. |

Message | It makes sense, anything that affects national security or cross border crime, the national force handles it, anything else, the local guys do |

Message | CP: there wouldn't be an increase in spending as tasks currently now being carried out by a national police force would simply be transferred to local ones. The funding allocation will simply change, not increase |

Message | Well yes if that's what the Conservatives want (you need ony say) but I thought that he called himself the Conservative Party of Telamon and was abbreviated to CPT, hence why i used CP for the Classical Party. If i'm wrong on this then just say!!!! |

Message | There is a national police department funded by the national government and there are local police departments, funded by local governments. It is not just being shifted over from national to local. There will be both a national and a local therefore increasing spending. |

Message | No because the national police department is being cut. For example, at the moment the national police department carries out local policing, under this proposal that will be transferred to a locally controlled police department - therefore it is a reallocation of funding not an increase, as the role of the national police department will be cut. |

Message | I changed my name to Conservative Party of Telamon...well mostly because there are tons of Conservative Parties, so obviously i have to identify myself by nation. As for calling me CP or CPT...i could care less. You can call me Connie if it makes you happy. ;p |

Random fact: Players who consent to a particular role-play by acknowledging it in their own role-play cannot then disown it or withdraw their consent from it. For example, if player A role-plays the assassination of player B's character, and player B then acknowledges the assassination in a news post, but then backtracks and insists the assassination did not happen, then he will be required under the rules to accept the validity of the assassination role-play. |
