Bill: Nuclear Weapon Re-Assignment Pt 1
Details
Submitted by[?]: National Party of Baltusia
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill proposes the withdrawal from a treaty. It will require half of the legislature to vote in favor[?]. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: October 2153
Description[?]:
The nuclear corps are a deterrent, and we believe we should re-assign them thus. However, we are bound by the WMD Limitation Treaty. The options we would like to take are "In retaliation to an attack" or "In retaliation to a WMD attack". These cannot be chosen under the terms of the treaty. |
Proposals
Article 1
Withdraw from the WMD Limitation Treaty.

Message | This is simply using a new classification, more suited to what the nuclear corps are already providing. |

Message | Hardly - at this point, the nuclear corps wait until we are attacked, in which case nuclear weapons can come under construction, and should others attack us with them they may be deployed in turn. Withdrawing from this treaty would state to the International Community that that is no longer policy, that we are prepared to launch nuclear weapons first. We reject that alteration as foolish and shortsighted. |

Message | Indeed, the actual structure of the NCB is more orientated to the current state of affairs than what you are proposing. |
