| THE CURRENT LAW Makes drug use a profit-driven private business. It demands profits be made off the use and abuse of drugs. WE RECOGNIZE That drugs will be used, and it is not the duty of the State to tell citizens they can or cannot use them. BUT WE ALSO RECOGNIZE The need for safety, regulation, health, and ethical standards in this business. It should not be run by Corporations who also run Detox Centers, it should not be run by Corporations which also produce needles, it should not be run for PROFIT by PRIVATE DRUG BARONS. THE PEOPLE Should be able to trust the purity and safety of the substances they purchase. The Government shall operate these centers like Pharmacies, also promoting safe-use and related government rehab facilities. All profits from these products will be donated to these rehab centers. We must treat drug abuse as an unfortunate byproduct of society to be treated, not a profitable business venture or an illegal vice. |
