Bill: Removal of Dranish Influence Act 3393

Details

Submitted by[?]: Conservative Party of Solentia

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill proposes the withdrawal from a treaty. It will require half of the legislature to vote in favor[?]. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: January 3394

Description[?]:

Following several disrespectful and hateful comments regarding Supreme President Phillips voiced by various Dranish politicians in that despicable nation's press (http://forum.particracy.net/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=1930&start=320#p46352 and http://forum.particracy.net/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=1930&start=320#p46358), the Alliance for a Greater Solentia again moves for a withdrawal of formal relations with this vicious, amoral, and anarchistic nation.

During our last attempt to end relations with the Dranish cowards (http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=364474) the Power of the People Party rightfully voiced their opinion that "the friendship of countries should not be hindered by political parties," and used that as justification for a no vote on withdrawal. To our friends in the PoP, we say that we agree; but the situation has changed. Our relations with nations ought not be hindered by political parties, but while the Liberal Party remains the only party with which the Dranish offer to treat, no good may be gleaned from Dranland's parasitic attachment to our glorious Federal Republic.

The GNP is, as you point out, thankfully, no longer in power in Dranland, but they continue to spout vehement anti-Solentian rhetoric in favor of Clarkist anarchism, and the infection has now spread to the Popular Party. We must cut all ties before the parasites sicken our nation as well.

MessageSenators,

The attacks on the Supreme President by the Dranish government parties are hardly surprising given the AGS's unfounded attacks on the Dranish durring the recent election campaign.

We invite President Phillips here and now to provide his evidence that the Dranish are 'vicious, amoral, and anarchistic'. What is the justification for these accusations. Yet again the AGS offer no opportunity for debate on this critical matter of Solentian national security. They move us straight to a vote because they know they will lose the debate, and don't want Senate to have their say..

Let me suggest that there are no grounds for these accusations, clearly our new President has very little grasp of foreign affairs, or history, and has not researched this agreement. Indeed he does not even make the effort to find out which Dranish party is even in government! Does he expect us to then trust his judgement on this matter?

What makes the ASG think that they can walk into power, and insult Solentia's international friends? We note that all the major ministries of state have been carved up between the ASG and FIP with minor ministries offered as tokens to the PoP and ULP.

This house endorsed the DSFT only a few months ago, yet the President thinks he is above the will of the Senate. We object that a party who's forefathers abandoned Solentia for a 'better place' think that they can return back to power and dismantle 100 years of Solentian foreign relations within months.

This move would leave Solentia friendless within terra. Let me ask Mr President, who are Solentia's allies.. Which nations are you making contact with? Is it not true that you want to see us isolated within terra? True patriots don't leave their nations isolated internationally, and they certainly don't abandon their nation for somewhere better.

The Liberals have profound differences with both the PoP and the ULP, but we respect their willingness to enter into meaningful debate, and to listen. We invite all patriots to stand together and defend Solentia's international standing from these traitors.

MessageDear friends,

As you may know this will probably be the last bill I will vote in the capacity of Senate Warden. The PoP has been the center of Solentian Moderate-Conservatism and never we will abandon our ideals of the party.

True most of our policies are similar to the ASG and FIP but we have different ideas regarding foreign policy. The PoP is a nationalistic party and we believe in the Solentian Nation but dear Mr. Supreme President Phillips attacking and insulting a country was never in our minds.

The PoP will always believe in "the friendship of countries should not be hindered by political parties". Mr. Phillips you have acted first and they just reacted. The PoP sees that inter-nationalistic policies should be used instead in promoting Solentian Glory and Greatness but we still believe in protectionism in regards to Solentian business and economic policies.

Therefore, the PoP does not see any wrong with the treaty and the treaty should continue as it is. We believe in Solentia and its people.

Kind Regards,
Senate Warden Margarette Wear, PoP

MessageMadame Senate Warden,

This is an atrocious attempt of foreign policy because behind the mask of foreign policy is a personal agenda. Simply because the Supreme President felt that the Dranish press was libelous and because his feelings were hurt, he felt that we should destroy a friendship that has benefited both Solentian's and Dranians? Descipable! The Supreme President lacks the character of a president and is unspeakably unpresidential!

I yield the floor,

Sen. Victor Chann, Nukeya
