| Message | Do you have any idea how the system works IN TELAMON? Look at our cabinet, filled with people who have worked DAMNED HARD to become the best in their fields. Look at HRM the High King's advisory staff, the ABSOLUTE BEST IN TELAMON. And look at the greater nobility of Telamon: take the Ek family for example, as they are typical of nobility- they are a family filled with great authors, artists and sciences and this nation saw fit to reward their contribution. As for the royal family, well let's not even go there. The High King is an intellectual great of his generation and has, and is, working to make Telamon the greatest nation on Earth. Our system is stable, it is safe, and it works. Now, things would be different if there were maniacs on the throne or that a maniac was expected to take the throne, but that is not the case. Telamon IS NOT THE TYPICAL EXAMPLE OF A MONARCHY. EVERYONE in our nobility has worked incredibly hard to get there and work hard to stay there. And the High King's Parliament, the Parliament of each of the Kingdoms, the Royal Bar, and numerous other organizations work to ensure that only those that deserve power have it. If you want to change Telamon, then be logical about change. Don't try to obliterate a system that has saved COUNTLESS LIVES AROUND THE WORLD!! As for undemocratic, why do we have elections; why does our party hold annual elections for its internal staff and cabinet nominees? You, Mr. Pirate, have been here only a few months. And in that time you have learned NOTHING of our ways, of our people, of how things function, NOTHING!!! You're currently attempting to destroy the Law of the Sea that protects this nation, its assets, and it influence. What about your system is better? And don't you go screaming that DAMNED FREEDOM, because, quite frankly, we're getting sick of hearing that played out argument because the people are free, morally and socially. Just because Telamon isn't a Libertarian haven doesn't mean we're not a free, accepting, logical people. | Message | If I left wouldn't you get bored just sitting here running the nation under one party rule? Surly once you get everything set the way you intend things get boring fast right? My first party in patriarchy was a liberal / borderline democratic socialist party (closer to my actual ideology). My party and two others had quickly established roughly the society that we wanted and things were getting boring. Then around the same time two communist parties came in and started shaking things up. Eventually they turned us into an authoritarian communist nation. We then got to begin the process of slowly returning our nation to its former glory, it made the game more interesting. Since leaving that nation I've done the Pirate thing once before and am having fun with it. I hope you are not really this upset over my actions, this is just a game after all. |
