Bill: Privatization of Energy - June 3314
Details
Submitted by[?]: Beluz Democratic Karavist Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: February 3415
Description[?]:
If this bill is passed, it will allow some of the energy distribution to be under private sector control. Publicly-owned businesses may sometimes be inefficient. If the private sector gains partial control, there will be competition which will force private companies to compete with each other by providing the best possible services to citizens. This will cut government expenses, and electricity bills will be less expensive for the average citizen. At the same time, the government will retain partial control. The other laws, regarding energy, still say that energy provision (production) policies are left to local governments. The law also states that each member-state, of the bloc, is responsible for maintaining its own power grid. This law will only simply allow private companies to build or adopt powerstations (how energy is distributed), but the energy production laws are not the responsibility of the bloc government. |
