Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The lyrics of the national anthem.
Old value:: The cry resounds like thunder's peal, Like crashing waves and clang of steel: The State, the State, our Vanguard State, Who will defend our State, divine? Dear fatherlands, no fear be thine, Dear fatherlands, no fear be thine, Firm and True stands the Watch, at Guard for All Time! Firm and True stands the Watch, at Guard for All Time! They stand, a hundred thousand strong, Quick to avenge their Party's wrong, With filial love their bosoms swell They shall guard the sacred standard well. Dear fatherlands, no fear be thine, Dear fatherlands, no fear be thine, Firm and True stands the Watch, at Guard for All Time! Firm and True stands the Watch, at Guard for All Time! He casts his eyes to heaven's blue, From where past heroes hold the view, And swears pugnaciously the oath, Our state shall remain as Red as my Heart! Dear fatherlands, no fear be thine, Dear fatherlands, no fear be thine, Firm and True stands the Watch, at Guard for All Time! While still remains one breath of life, While still one fist can draw a knife, One gun still fired with one hand, No foe will turn back the march of time. Dear fatherlands, no fear be thine, Dear fatherlands, no fear be thine, Firm and True stands the Watch, at Guard for All Time! Should my heart not survive this stand, You'll never fall in foreign hand, Much, as your waters without end, Have we our heroes' blood to spend. Dear fatherlands, no fear be thine, Dear fatherlands, no fear be thine, Firm and True stands the Watch, at Guard for All Time! The oath resounds, on rolls the wave, The banners fly high, proud, and brave, The State, the State, the Vanguard State We all shall stand to hold the line! So lead us with your tried command, With trust in the Dialectic, take sword in hand, Hail Thälmann! Down with all that brood! Repay our shame with the foes blood!
