| Animals are property; restricting the trade of them results in missed opportunities for gains from voluntary exchange. As well, the private ownership of endangered animals actually prevents extinction better than regulations since there is an incentive to take care of a privately owned animal, whereas an animal in the wild is subject to the mercy of poachers. |
