Bill: King Devraj Jozefus' Marriage (2154)

Details

Submitted by[?]: Front Canrillaise

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: June 2155

Description[?]:

Prince Devraj, soon to be king, has no wife. He is over 50 years old and still a bachelor! He needs to find one in order to secure successors once he becomes King. We suggest that he marries a commoner, just so the monarchy can relate more to the ordinary Rildanor citizen.

The Wife of King Devraj
Current: None
Proposed: Jamie Escariot

Profile of Jamie Escariot: She is a 40 year old single woman who has a succesful career as a family practitioner. She is gentle and likes to help people, but nonetheless a very bright and beautiful woman. She would do well in serving Rildanor in the future as its Queen. Her record is clean: no criminal activities, believes in equality, freedom and all the other values that Rildanor holds. She comes from a modest family and grew up with 7 brothers and sisters. Her father, a small business owner, and her mother are known to be great supporters of the Crown.

MessageWe what to know more about her and if possible we would like for her to answer a few questions:

What are your religious beliefs? Are you a member of the sate religion and if so are you a practicing Christian?

What are your stances on issues like abortion/ euthanasia/ homosexuality/ marriage/prostitution?

What importance do you think the Church has in 22th century Rildanor? And what role do you think it will play in the future?

Why did you wait so long to get married?

And last and most important of all: do you love prince Devraj?

If Jamie Escariot decides to answers these questions and according to her answers we will reach a decision.

MessageDo you really want those questions answered? Because as a future Queen it would benefit her to remain silent on issues that are so controversial and divisive. But if you insist on knowing the facts then here they are:

What are your religious beliefs? Are you a member of the sate religion and if so are you a practicing Christian?
Yes I am a Christian. Whether I am a practicing one or not is a private matter.

What are your stances on issues like abortion/ euthanasia/ homosexuality/ marriage/prostitution?
I am against abortion as I love children. My family also had many children and got by just fine. As for marriage, I do not believe in divorce. As you can tell from my age that I waited for the perfect person to come along. My views on euthanasia, homosexuality, and prostitution are pretty liberal.

What importance do you think the Church has in 22th century Rildanor? And what role do you think it will play in the future?
I believe that the Church will play a very important role in shaping the moral values of society and will set ethical codes with which we can all live by. I hope to carry on and preach some of those values to the people as well as show it to them through my actions.

Why did you wait so long to get married?
Like I said earlier, I wanted to find the perfect man. Sure enough my knight in shining armour arrived one fine evening two years ago. =)

And last and most important of all: do you love prince Devraj?
Why, of course! I didn't wait until I was 40 just to marry someone that I would hate now would I?

Messageooc!

RF&A, our Royal Family is about to become extinct, the new King and Queen are alread passed 40 which becomes a difficult age to get children :-)) - the other children of Queen Arundhati also reach that age soon and none of them is married.

MessageOOC:
It's still possible to have children even at that age right? It's not like they're in their sixties... And the future queen is only in her 40s so it's still possible. If not, then some other aristocratic family can take in the reins (after a vote of course).

Also, we can immediately vote to name a new heir (male or female) once this marriage passes.

Can we ask the Proletariat Coalition why they voted no on this bill? Judging from the name of your party I would think its ideological, but I'm nonetheless curious as to why you voted against.

Random fact: "OOC", "IC" and "IG" are commonly-used acronyms in Particracy. "OOC" refers to comments, discussions and actions which are out-of-character, meaning they are done player-to-player rather than party-to-party. "IC" refers to in-character interactions (ie. party-to-party). Similarly, "IG" means in-game, although this term may also simply refer to what happens in the actual game interface, as opposed to on the forum or elsewhere. "RP" just means "role-play".
