Message | Madam Speaker, Unless I am mistaken, this new budget would not raise revenue, it would cut it by 30 billion DRA. What departments does the DSP intend to fund with this smaller revenue? |

Message | Madam Speaker, we will firmly stand against the DSP plundering the pockets of hard-working citizens for their spending excesses. The state must learn to live with less, not the citizens. Adrienne LeCoultre-Overstraten MP Member for Valdor Minister of Finance |

Message | OOC: I appreciate that the budget in Particracy can be tricky to follow, but if you look at the economics page, Dranland currently raises 400,463,678,399 DRA in income tax. If the DSP's income tax proposal was passed, this revenue would increase to 546,534,000,000 DRA. IC: Madam Speaker, Dranland's income tax regime is one of the least progressive in Terra. It favours the minority and not the masses, the rich and not the poor. Our recent social and political problems demonstrate that millions of Dranish feel disenfranchised and socially excluded by the radical right-wing polices of the present government. If we are to restore social harmony, then we need to build a more equal society with farier taxation and more investment in social programs. Cadfael Maddocks MP (Leader of the DSP) |

Message | Mr Speaker, Mr Maddocks is an expert of portraying plunder and theft in a philanthropic way. How do you expect to create 'social harmony' if you allow 'the masses' - whatever this term is meant to describe - to enjoy the fruits of the work of others? The issue of private property is not something that should be subjected to obscure fantasies about even more obscure utopian ideas of 'social justice', because plunder remains plunder if it is conducted by 'the masses', even though socialists generally lack the moral integrity to grasp this simple principle. They wish to establish a parasitary regime where an overly productive minority is exploited for the spending excesses of the state, which is outright despicable and immoral. Adrienne LeCoultre-Overstraten MP Member for Valdor Prime Minister |

Message | Madam Speaker, It is the Grand National Party who want to deny people the fruit of their labour, because it is they who insist upon enforcing a neo-conservative economy that allows capitalists to exploit their workers and makes the rich ever richer and the poor ever poorer. All we are proposing is to rebalance the unfair distribution of resources imposed by the capitalist economic system. OOC: "Mr Speaker, Mr Maddocks is an expert of portraying plunder and theft in a philanthropic way." - I love that line lol! |

Message | OOC: Haha, I'm really enjoying this clash of world views ;-) I must only take care that ALO is a bit less caustic towards Maddocks, he's not Butterworth after all. |

Message | OOC: I suspect ALO actually misses Butterworth a little bit, even if she wouldn't admit it. After all, it was easier to be rude to him hehe :) |
