Bill: Kanjoran States

Submitted by[?]: Yehudi Aliyah
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: April 2155
Description[?]:
The name «Estates General» implies that the representatives in that assembly are representing e/states, but they are in fact representing «Commonwealths.» This is a logistical proplem and we propose that «Commonwealth» be changed to «Kanjoran State» to clarify. |

Message | Well, errr, Estates General actually refers to a general meeting of the 3 'estates' or social strata of Kanjor (just like in pre-revolutionary France). I guess that this fact might move some other reform into motion. |

Message | I'm familier with the Estates General (les États Générals), but confused it with the States General of the Netherlands. No matter, the real reason is that I hate the name commonwealth for a country that is no longer an empire. |

Message | I based the idea of the estates general on the netherlands, as the KSDP suggests. Not that it makes much difference |

Random fact: Unless otherwise stated, monarchs and their royal houses will be presumed to be owned by the player who introduced the bill appointing them to their position. |
Random quote: "Colonialism or imperialism, as the slave system of the West is called, is not something that is just confined to England or France or the United States. The interests in this country are in cahoots with the interests in France and the interests in Britain. It's one huge complex or combine, and it creates what's known not as the American power structure or the French power structure, but an international power structure. This international power structure is used to suppress the masses of dark-skinned people all over the world and exploit them of their natural resources." Malcolm X |
