Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The lyrics of the national anthem.
Old value:: Vorona's youth let us rejoice, For we are young and free; We've golden soil and wealth for toil, Our home is girt by sea; Our land abounds in Nature's gifts Of beauty rich and rare; In history's page, let every stage Advance Vorona fair. In joyful strains then let us sing, Advance Vorona fair. When galleons sailed, To trace wide oceans over, True courage bore them on, Til they landed on our shore. Then here they raised our national flag, The standard of the brave; "With all her faults we love her still" "Vorona rules the waves." In joyful strains then let us sing Advance Vorona fair. While other nations of the globe Behold us from afar, We'll rise to high renown and shine Like our glorious hopeful star; From Vorona's soil our Fatherland, Foreigners also fair, Let all combine with heart and hand To advance Vorona fair. In joyful strains then let us sing Advance Vorona fair. Should foreign foe ever sight our coast, Or dare a foot to land, We'll rouse to arms like sires of yore, To guard our native strand; Vorona then shall surely know, Though oceans roll between, Her sons in fair Vorona's land Still keep their courage green. In joyful strains then let us sing Advance Vorona fair.
Current:
-My Vorona- My Vorona, my joy – delight, How fair thou art – how bright! For nowhere in the world around Can ever such a place be found So well belov'd, from sense profound, My native country dear! May God in Heaven thee defend, My own beloved land! May He be guard, may He be shield, For ever bless and guardian wield Protection for all deeds of thine, My precious Vorona! |
Proposed:
Sons and daughters of Vorona, Love the land that gave us birth, Land of beaches, hills and valleys, Fairest isle of all of Terra. Wheresoever you may roam, Love, oh, love our island home. Gone the times when nations battled For this bountiful virgin land, Gone the days when Deltaria's chains Enslaved our native folk. Dawns at last a brighter day, Stretches out a glad new way. May the good fortune bless our island, Guard her children from woe and harm! May our people live united, Strong in soul and strong in arm! |

Message | You claim that we ignored our history... right. Let's make Vorona the monarchy it once was then? |
Date | 13:21:46, January 23, 2013 CET | From | People's Party | To | Debating the Constitutional Reform Act.3429 |
Message | I'm not. I'm doing quite the opposite. I'm restoring many of the typical features of Vorona. If you're voting against then you obviously have no knowledge of Vorona's history. |
Date | 13:27:53, January 23, 2013 CET | From | Social Liberal Party of Vorona (SLP) | To | Debating the Constitutional Reform Act.3429 |
Message | Right. I'm looking forward to a bill reintroducing the monarchy into the country then? Vorona started off as a monarchy after all |

Message | That, I'm not able to because we're bound by the ATR treaty. |
Date | 13:43:27, January 23, 2013 CET | From | People's Party | To | Debating the Constitutional Reform Act.3429 |
Message | You just argued against me proposing to withdraw from numerous treaties... Do you actually support a monarchy? |
Date | 13:48:20, January 23, 2013 CET | From | Social Liberal Party of Vorona (SLP) | To | Debating the Constitutional Reform Act.3429 |
Message | I argue against withdrawing almost all of the treaties we abide to, including important ones such as the one on an international court. Such treaties must not be withdrawn from if we want to stay relevant in the international stage. And yes, I am open to the idea of a monarchy. At least the head of state will be absolved from politicking, thus ensuring a neutral head leading a nation, hence providing continuity. |
Date | 13:50:23, January 23, 2013 CET | From | People's Party | To | Debating the Constitutional Reform Act.3429 |
Message | So you party is supposedly socially liberal but your support a monarchy yet you oppose a head of state with meaningful powers? Bizarre. |
Date | 14:00:05, January 23, 2013 CET | From | Social Liberal Party of Vorona (SLP) | To | Debating the Constitutional Reform Act.3429 |
Message | I believe that a head of state should be apolitical and for Vorona's case, a monarchy due to its history. It does not contradict with my political beliefs. I do not oppose a head of state with meaningful powers, but these "meaningful powers" should not include the right to form governments, which should be the job of political parties. Does this make it clearer to you? |
Date | 14:05:08, January 23, 2013 CET | From | People's Party | To | Debating the Constitutional Reform Act.3429 |
Message | One of the key aspects of any form of liberalism is supporting democracy and democratic systems of government. As a liberal party ourselves we are aware that liberalism certainly opposes tyrannical and elitist forms of government such as monarchies. Vorona has not been a monarchy for hundreds of years, and going back to that system would be reminiscent of being ruled by Deltaria. (The only powers that heads of state can have in Particracy is to propose the cabinet, its either that or none) |
