Details

Submitted by[?]: Likaton Unity Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 3436

Description[?]:

WHEREAS

- The Likatonijas Republika does not currently give the freedom to supporters of certain safety and security groups the express ability to demonstrate and regulate their own lives and communities.

- The safety of all Likaton's can be further reinforced and delivered by additional security measures to uphold responsibilities and freedoms.

- Paramilitaries have been shown to greatly reduce crime and further governmental stability in other parts of Terra.

SECTION I

A. The Likatonijas Republika will hereby allow paramilitaries to exist alongside a respective political party.

SECTION II

B. The Likaton National Police Force will hold command over all paramilitaries and their members. All members of every paramilitary will be honorary police officers of the Republic, and subject to all restrictions and oaths of the Likaton National Police Force.

C. Each political party that has a representative paramilitary will be held solely accountable for the actions of the paramilitary. It will be considered a criminal offence to party leadership to have a misbehaving paramilitary.

D. All paramilitaries must represent a political party with that party's clear approval. The Dorum must approve all paramilitaries before they become legal.

SECTION III

E. The Likaton Armed Forces will enforce the removal of any illegal paramilitaries with immediate and lethal action. It is considered a capital charge to be a member of a illegal paramilitary and members of said organization will be treated as enemy combatants.

MessageMr. Runatjs (Speaker),

We, the LVP, fully approve of this measure. Paramilitaries are an important part of any safe and stable nation, and the regulations outlined in this Act will ensure that due diligence is placed in keeping Likatonia safe from both illegal paramilitaries and all threats. We urge our fellow members of the Dorum to voice their support of this legislation.

We hereby open debate on this Act.

MessageMr. Runatjs (Speaker),

We can not support this. Paramilitaries will lead to a feudal Likatonia where the one who has the most powerful paramilitary is King. What is wrong with our beloved Armed Forces. The fact that the government will have to 'heavily regulate' them shows that the LVP itself has serious concerns.

MessageMr. Runatjs (Speaker),

While we understand some of the thoughts behind the LLF's argument, we must insist that this legislation would only improve our ability to face security threats and reduce crime. Nobody knows a community better than the members inside of it, and this process would help create inclusive environments that would have a clear decline of criminality and deviant behaviour.

MessageThe AM RLP supports this measure, as it follows with our view that the people should rule wherever possible, and the government only where necessary.

MessageIt is 'necessary' for the government to maintain national defense and public order as most libertarians surely agree. This is we repeat a march back to feudalism and will create an intolerable social hierarchy where the wealthiest can exploit the poorest by the power of their armies.

MessageWhile we somewhat understand the nonsensical fear from the LLF, we must reiterate our support for this policy which will both be libertarian in devolution and downloading of policies to a smaller stance; considerably against our pro-big government stance but a concession we are willing to make for the good of the people.

And that's our second point to this legislation; it is good for the nation. More protection, greater involvement in our community, and stronger social integration will undoubtedly be helpful to this nation's future. We heavily respect the AM RLP's position and are proud that the President agrees with our party.

MessageWhile we agree with the LLF that it is necessary for the government to maintain national defense policy, as that must be unitary, local conditions dictate the needs for "public order". This would allow those local conditions to be considered by the local people most involved.

MessageWith these recent statements, the LVP will respectively end this debate and move forward onto the vote. We thank our colleagues in the LLF and the AM RLP for their thoughtful and worthy discussion and look forward to seeing the results of the vote.

We hereby open voting on the Freedom to Support Act - 3434.
