Message | Mr Speaker, we are glad that the Greens have decided to acknowledge the need for a strong deterrent as part of our army's arsenal, however we will have to vote no on this bill solely due to the ill-considered article 3, which we deem unacceptable from a freedom-minded point of view. Furthermore, a military is always stronger if it is made up by professional soldiers rather than citizens who have been obliged by the state to join the troops. Message | Mr. Speaker, I am shocked and appalled that the Greens are betraying the people who helped get them elected by espousing such irresponsible militarist policies. The Greens are meant to care about human welfare and the environment. Do they have any idea how horrendous chemical and biological weapons can be, and how damaging they can be to to the environment? Mr. Speaker, we in the Democratic Socialist Party have always been and always will be totally and implacably opposed to development, possession and use of these deadly and evil - yes, evil! - weapons. Shame on the Greens for proposing this, and shame on them for betraying their voters. Antonio Benandez MP (Leader of the DSP |

Message | OOC: Interesting poll. According to that, only 47.6% of Green voters were pacifist. I would have expect it to be higher, given that the Greens are officially "moderate pacifist". |
