Description[?]:
The Naval force of Rutania is a very important organ of our government, it enforces law on the high seas, protects our maritime trade and displays Rutania's might. The Democratic Party has noticed that our navy is not on par with other navies of the world and hence we have compiled a few points for the Mordernisation of the navy: 1. Development of 3 nuclear powered carrier based combat groups for extensive sea operations and prolonged blockades. Cost per Carrier based combat group inclusive of all weapon systems, ammunition and training: 10 billion RUT over a period of 5 years. 2. Development of underwater launch pads for strike back capabilities and anti ship operations. Cost per pad 100 Million RUT exclusive of ammo. 3. Development of an extensive high powered radar chain along the coast line with satellite pairing. Cost for full project 800 Million RUT 4. Development of anti missile missile cruisers. Cost of R&D and production of 20 such ships: 2 Billion. Over 5 years 5. Development of 3 Naval Shipyards for quicker production as highlighted in the military reforms bill 3437. Cost 6 Billion over 2 years 6. Introduction of a Naval wing arm for bombing, anti ship operations, transport, relief, patrolling and anti submarine operations (to be discussed in an upcoming bill). 7. Development of new ship based supersonic and hypersonic missile platforms. Cost: Popular estimates put the cost at 100 to 200 million. 8. More maritime exercises. 9. A new naval commando force- SEALS. For anti piracy, anti terrorist, hostage crises, patrolling. 9. More inter services military exercises for better coordination in times of crises. Message | Mr speaker, As much as I would like to agree with the views of my counterpart here, we have to face the truth our navy WAS the most modern navy in Terra however lack of funding, up gradation to latest standards and falling number of ships and quality degradation have taken its toll, today our navy is incapable of securing our overseas interests if needed. Our navy is only capable of defending our nation not attacking others if needed. Hugh Martins. Shadow minister for Defence. |
