Description[?]:
In order to establish and maintain a stable society of separate but harmonious classes, thus bringing an end to the strife of our recent history, it is vital that a strong mercantile body be created. This Kerisian Trade and Industrial League will be the arm of a capitalist class that will know both it's limits and it's privileges. No more shall the industry and capital of Dolgava change hands in a reckless rat race. In the name of market efficiency we demand that the market be rendered artificially stable via government intervention. The recent disaster proves beyond doubt that the libertarian principle of the free market must be tempered, lest we face the prospect of future disasters. Monarchy, aristocracy and order are the elements needed to make capitalism work in Dolgava. Recent history has shown that the Dolgarian people are too traumatised by their warlike environment to operate as logical individuals, and therefore unable to create the spontaneous order a free market system needs. Therefore in the future all market activities will be controlled by this League. All economic activity involving the outside world will be regulated by the League. The League reserves the right to take control of businesses and industries who are unable to maintain their own efficiency. The League reserves the right to collect a tariff on all imports in order to pay for the defence of the Confederation, in return for which the League will maintain a Privateer Navy and Mercenary Land Army to defend the Confederation from unauthorised inter-loppers and internal dissidents. The League demands it's status within the Confederation be made permanent. |
