Bill: Religious Direction of Dranland Act (3439)
Details
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: March 3440
Description[?]:
Dranland's policies on religion are lax and lack direction or coherent design. Without overview of the ideas being spread across the nation there is no way to ensure that pervasive and harmful ideologies and religious agendas are not being spread into the hearts and minds of our people. We propose several limited reforms to help Dranland keep a better eye on what exactly is being spread across our nation and to our people. |

Message | Mr Speaker, so the VBSM basically proclaims 'we are in possession of universal truth and reserve the right to censor any individual whose ideas do not comply with those we propagate'. What an arrogant, restrictive and narrow-minded policy! Rev. William Westbury Member for Magadonia |

Message | Mr Speaker, this assumption is outrageous. If I do not agree with the VBSM's opposition to freedom of speech, does that make me a criminal? In the weird world view of Francisco Salazar, it apparently does... Rev. William Westbury Member for Magadonia |

Message | Mr. Speaker, I agree that some religious organisations and movements are, in various ways, unhealthy. However, we live in a free society, and in a free society we do not overly regulate matters of religion. Some political parties are also rather unhealthy. Perhaps they are the ones we should be regulating a little more? Especially the ones who aggressively march up and down the streets wearing Blue Shirt uniforms, perhaps? Date | 01:03:24, February 12, 2013 CET | From | Democratic Socialist Party | To | Debating the Religious Direction of Dranland Act (3439) |
Message | Mr. Speaker, rallies are not so peaceful when they are conducted by swaggering men wearing uniforms who make a lot of people feel intimidated. Antonio Benandez MP (Leader of the Opposition) |
Date | 01:25:56, February 12, 2013 CET | From | P.A.R.D | To | Debating the Religious Direction of Dranland Act (3439) |
Message | Mr.Speaker, they are intimidated because they know the VBSM has widespread support and is a growing powerhouse. If they don't like the uniforms, well,we don't really care.In fact,if I win my seat in the Parliament,I will wear that uniform to the swearing-in ceremony.Freedom of Speech as I see it.
