Message | Mr Speaker, we do not want permanent trespassing in on the citizens' grounds and in their houses merely because the VBSM suspects 'illegal immigrants' to hide there. Furthermore, the number of illegal immigrants is so marginal resulting from loose immigration laws that the costs of such razzias would surpass their usefulness by far. This proposal is badly thought, and we will thus not support it. Herman Boxhall MP Member for Valdor Minister of Internal Affairs |
Date | 00:58:10, February 14, 2013 CET | From | Democratic Socialist Party | To | Debating the Illegal Immigration Act |
Message | Mr. Speaker, the Minister makes the case against this Bill very well. Dranland has a proud tradition of welcoming immigrants, and there really are very, very few illegal immigrants here. The cost of sending out patrols against illegal immigrants would be prohibitive and unjustied. It would be especially unjustified at the present time, when the security forces need to direct as many resources as possible towards countering the terrorist threat.
