| Whereas: The citizens of Likatonia are, for the most part, peaceful and law abiding people AND These same citizens have a right to defend themselves against the actions of the less civilized AND This minority possess and will continue to possess firearms of varied types: Therefore: Be it resolved that all mentally competent citizens shall have the right to bear arms as they see fit. |

Old value:: Adult individuals may not own firearms unless professionally required.
Current: Adult individuals are allowed to own and purchase guns freely.
Proposed: Individuals are allowed to own firearms as long as they do not have a history of dangerous mental illness or a violent criminality.

However, we recognize that this is simply an area where these two parties do not think like-minded, and we are doubtful a working compromise can be instituted. |
