Bill: Religious Direction of Dranland Act (3446)

Details

Submitted by[?]: P.A.R.D

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: March 3447

Description[?]:

Mr.Speaker,
Dranland's policies on religion are lax and lack direction or coherent design. Without overview of the ideas being spread across the nation there is no way to ensure that pervasive and harmful ideologies and religious agendas are not being spread into the hearts and minds of our people.

We propose several limited reforms to help Dranland keep a better eye on what exactly is being spread across our nation and to our people.

MessageMadam Speaker, as a Dranianos man myself, I protest that Alvaro Chomar personally insults both me and every other Dranianos citizen in Dranland by suggesting that this Bill has the faintest thing to do with "Dranianos purity".

MessageMadam Speaker, this has everything to do with Draniano purity and keeping that purity from being tarnished by Kyos perhaps?

MessageMadam Speaker, I question whether such a thing as "Dranianos purity" even really exists, but if it does, then the Blue Shirts are a much greater threat to it than any Kyo is.

MessageOrder! Order! I am not without respect and empathy for the point Nikki Sasz is making. Nevertheless, as controversial as Alvaro Chomar's views may be, he has not expressed them in an unparliamentary way. It is my role as Speaker to try to ensure that Members treat each other with courtesy during debate, not to regulate the content of their speeches - however unpleasant they may be.

Random fact: Don't put "the" as the first word in your party name, because when parties are referred to in news reports, their names are preceded with "the", e.g. the [Socialist Party] has lost.
