Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The lyrics of the national anthem.
Old value:: I vow to thee, my country, all earthly things above, Entire and whole and perfect, the service of my love: The love that asks no question, the love that stands the test, That lays upon the altar the dearest and the best; The love that never falters, the love that pays the price, The love that makes undaunted the final sacrifice. And there's another country, I've heard of long ago, Most dear to them that love her, most great to them that know; We may not count her armies, we may not see her king; Her fortress is a faithful heart, her pride is suffering; And soul by soul and silently her shining bounds increase, And her ways are ways of gentleness and all her paths are peace.
Current:
O'er azure skies, And emerald plains, Where freedom and justice prevail! With courage and strength, We'll fight to the end, For liberty in our land! From underneath the sky, From sea to sea, To city to city, Our banner raises high, For O'er the dark clouds, Nothing can remove the light on which Our nation stands! For child to child, And parent to parent, We fight to withstand, Those clouds O'er beyond, So we may have peace in our land! |
Proposed:
I vow to thee, my country, all nations shall bow, Entire and whole and perfect, the service of my pride: The determination I ask no question, the nation that stands the test of time, That provides security to the working man; The people that never fails, The nation that always provides, The people who give the ultimate sacrifice. And the stories of my forefathers, I've heard of long ago, Most dear to them that love thee, most great to them that know; We may not count her dismays, we may not see her despair; Her fortress is a impregnable soul, her pride is unwavering; And her ways are ways of heroes and all her paths are enlightened. |

Message | Mr. Speaker, We would very well wish to see symbolic and practical changes made in this area, but we do NOT wish to abandon Hutori culture, and indeed our very language. It seems the Hon. Member attempts to emulate Trigunian culture, for reasons unknown to us. |
