| Message | We believe that unlike most other cases where government intrusion is unnecessary and unwanted, vaccination is one subject in which the federal government must take a stand. Refusing a vaccination affects many more people than yourself. Not only are you more likely to catch a viral or bacterial disease, you will also transmit it to others. Studies have shown that a non-vaccinated person is 35 times more likely to catch the measles, 6 times more likely to catch pertussis, etc. Likewise, even a vaccinated child in a community with low vaccination rates is much more likely to be infected. Vaccination is only fully effective if the entire population participates. This is about the safety of others as well as your own which is why we proposed this bill. |

| Message | We understand the points raised by our friends in the Indigoblå Liga, however we are still inclined to disagree. What if vaccination is against your beliefs? Tough, the government says you must have it. A better approach is educating people on the reasons that it is a good idea to have vaccinations, but still allowing parents to make their own mind up. |
