MessageDe venstregrønne will abstain on this bill as we feel the legalisation of polygamous marriages in our present society may put women at increased risk of exploitation and we also think there should be more extensive checks for adoptive parents.

MessageLogisk Synspunkt is voting no for simple reasons. Guns should be allowed if regulations are followed and switching adoption policy from local governments to a low standard is unreasonable.

MessageEveryone can have polygamous relationships without being married and some will of course be forced into a polygamous marriage, but this is no different from a normal marriage, a monogamous marriage can also be forced upon someone, but this does not make De venstregrønne want to ban monogamous marriage does it? - Do you see, we need to respect the different ways people want to live their lives, and we should never intervene in wether or not a non-forced marriage shall be allowed.

MessageAnd I don't see why De venstregrønne thinks that there should be more extensive checks for adoptive parents. We must have faith in our citizens also those who would like to adopt, everyone deserves a chance to have a baby as long as they haven't done anything harmful to kids earlier in their lives. Children would also benefit from this because they wouldn't have to wait for a long time to get a safe environment to grow up in.
Why does Logisk Synpunkt think that guns should be allowed? - Guns can cause a lot of harm and should not be regulated in the local governments, they should be banned for citizens except for policemen, hunters and so on.

MessageArticle 1: This adoption policy is too relaxed and would allow children to enter into homes that while may not necessarily be abusive, might still be unsuitable for the child. Every child deserves a home, but we should ensure that their adoptive parents are the right ones for them.

Article 2: Although we support strict gun control for general safety, we feel that this measure is too extreme. The right to bear arms is an important liberty and personal firearms give citizens a defensive weapon.

Article 3: We believe that local governments know best how to set parental qualifications for their specific regions and that the federal government's oversight is too broad to definitively regulate this subject.

Article 4: Polygamous marriages should not be legalized in Kazulia. Private relationships between individuals are not under the jurisidiction of the government, but the recognization of polygamy as a legal contract would be immoral as it would encourage the exploitation of women. In addition, polygamous marriages are inherently flawed since one spouse is bound to be favored over the others leading to an unequal relationship. A marriage should remain between two loving individuals as it is an expression of an ultimate commitment.

Random fact: In cases where players introduce RP laws to a nation and then leave, Moderation reserves the discretion to declare the RP laws void if they appear to have fallen into disuse. In particular, please bear in mind that a player who is inexperienced with Particracy role-play and has joined a nation as the only party there should not generally be expected to abide by RP laws implemented by previous players who have been and left.
