| Message | Madam Speaker, my party has already proposed very significant increases to spending on our conventional armed forces. We believe this would be sufficient to provide a solid deterrence against invasion. However, there is a difference between deterrence and provocation. Adopting a more aggressive nuclear weapons policy would, we fear, risk giving the Egelians an excuse to launch precipitative action. I am therefore counselling against the passing of this Bill.
