MessageI love the idea of people being able to retire younger, but if we lower the retirement age we will have less money coming in from taxes, more money going out to pension payments and we dont have a strong economy as it is, so no.

MessageA person works 35 yrs in a physically demanding job. This will cause their body to be battered and ripe for injury. These people cause more money being spent by the company in workman's comp, or lost time. Younger workers are cheaper, more able to do the physical jobs and less likely to be out of work. Thus this saves money for the company.
Our nation has unemployment numbers up to 7.75% in our provinces thus labour is not an issue. And it would do the nation well to remove some of the older workers from the job market. So instead of paying unemployment or welfare we are paying those who have worked for yrs not those who are just starting out.
