Message | Hopefully we can all agree that tests are a poor method of assessing the skills and abilities of many students, and should not be the sole determinant of scholastic achievement. Unless there are any proponents of high stakes tests here, we would like to move this to a quick vote. |

Message | If you really want to go all out get rid of grades, and base evaluations on recommendations, projects, interviews, etc. We support. |

Message | While we certainly favor eliminating grades and replacing them with a qualitivate evaluation system, that is a decision that individual school boards should make on their own. Grades do not have the same negative consequences associated with high stakes testing, and so is not necessary to regulate. |

Message | WE beleive that a local school board is better at making this decision. |

Message | Also, these tests include basic reading writing and math tests. We're fine with agreeing that they should not be the sole determiner of achievement. Nevertheless, they are still important. Also, you have to ask yourself the question, if standardized tests are so useless that all they show is that someone has learned how to take the test, why do so many people do badly? |

Message | Because they haven't bee taught how to take the test? You answered your own question. And again, this bill would not eliminate standardized tests, it just prevents these tests from being used as the sole determinant for any criteria. |
