Message | Our party may be willing to support this (Article 3 especially), although we would like to hear the views of others. We also have concerns about Article 1. Didn't the United Centrists post something similar to this recently, or was it the CFAP? In any case, as the SSP believes it commented there, we would support either person-to-person approval of missionaries, or POSSIBLY a total ban. However, as it stands, Article 1 seems far more liberal than the current policy! (Or have we misread it?) |

Message | We may have supported this, had our friends in the UC, CFAP, SIP etc. had time to contribute to this discussion. That said, we have also decided that Article 2 is far too restrictive on the right to freedom of expression and of religion (remember however that it was the SSP that introduced the current policy in the first place, to separate church and state). We are also still undecided on Article 3. These proposals are far too broad to approve in one fell step. We are, however, willing to support the original CFAP proposal ("Spreading of Religion Reforms"), should they choose to accept the UC/SSP suggestions and modify the proposal so as to necessitate person-to-person approval of foreign missionaries. |
Date | 05:59:01, December 15, 2005 CET | From | Solentian Imperialist Party | To | Debating the Bill concerning religion |
Message | We do not believe that total secularism in all aspects of a society is either necessary or proper. Religion still has some place in society, if not in politics. We are voting AGAINST this bill. |

Message | We concur with the Imperialists. CFAP - as we mentioned previously, if you would care to propose your religious reform bill on its own, we may reconsider our vote on this policy area. |
