Bill: Accountable Education Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Solentian Socialist Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: May 2157
Description[?]:
This bill would ban charter schools altogether. While the SSP believes our current policy, whereby they "must be non-profit and have a specific focus" is the best alternative to an outright ban, we also believe the education system, like all vital public services, should be the sole domain of the public sector. The independence of charter schools abolishes local control over educational facilities. We believe that all schools should be accountable to their communities and to the elected government, and that this is undermined by the existence of charter schools. |
