Bill: June 2156 I

Details

Submitted by[?]: Malfico Progressive Fascist Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: February 2157

Description[?]:

Heil Malfico, we propose the following, fully in accordance with the views of our most noble Chancellor.

The current term of 36 months is insuffcient. It is taking a good section of a term to swear in a new cabinet not to mention establish anysort of legislative direction. In addition it is not helping the smaller newer parties increase their visibilities greatly in time for elections. We propose 70 months as a reasonable term. 70 is ideal as it will mean election times and day of week vary, meaning those with little access at weekends or particular times of day are not always penalised.

MessageIf this passes, alliances will be able to cement, and to shift within one term of office, making negotiation and compromise far more important elements than they are now.

Random fact: Players have a responsibility to differentiate between OOC (out-of-character) and IC (in-character) behaviour, and to make clear when they are communicating in OOC or IC terms. Since Particracy is a role-playing game, IC excesses are generally fine, but OOC attacks are not. However, players must not presume this convention permits them to harass a player with IC remarks that have a clear OOC context.
