1) All people should have the right to privacy from other people and the Government. It is not the Governments job to spy on its own people but instead to protect its people from those who would harm them or the Government iteslf. MessageMonsieur le président,

It is hypocritical that the honourable members opposite should pontificate on civil liberties. It was my Honourable Friend's party which just three years ago campaigned for the reintroduction of compulsory national service for every high-school graduate. Was that not an attack on civil liberties? Was that not an attack on the freedom and dignity of all men and women in this country?

To legalise bestiality in this country is ridiculous and dangerous. An animal cannot consent to sexual activity and cannot observe the standards of safety a Human being can and should during sexual intercourse; to legalise sexual relations with animals would be encouraging and allowing a behaviour which is at best extremely dangerous to all participants and at worst a gross, vile attack on the right of domesticated animals. This law would open the door to moral depravity and to the most grotesque forms of animal abuse imaginable

As for the right to bare arms, I can see no reason why we ought to make it easier for citizens to arm themselves. The complete ban on the ownership of firearms exists to protect our countrymen, to protect our children from those who would do harm to them. You do not fight fire with fire; putting more guns on our streets is not the way to solve the problem of gun crime in this or any other country. No one has the right to own and operate a weapon which can be so easily used to kill dozens, even hundreds of people very quickly. The security checks proposed by the ANP can do nothing to prevent someone who has slipped through the net from acquiring a gun and doing untold damage to the live of many innocents. Yes, those who desperately want firearms may get them anyway - but that's no reason to make it easier for them.

On the last article in this law, if the ANP feels especially passionate about this issue, then my government is willing to come to a compromise and support a reduction in the automatic right of the State to maintain records on citizens - but only if the ANP abandons its other proposals. If it does not, then we will leave the law as it stands.

MessageHonorable Speaker,

We will remove the first two articles only at this time to pass the last article. However we strongly believe in the rights of the citizens to keep arms as protection from those who would seek to harm them. That being said we will reintroduce said article in a new bill at a later time.
