This destructive, hyper-partisan attitude is an insult to democracy. Let us engage in constructive political discouse, and shun the path of the wrecking ball.

In any case, I do not see how stopping people from spurning a binding agreement which they have freely entered into, that is, marriage, can be considered perverted. And while alternative lifestyles are all very well and good - do we really want people copulating in the streets, as the Hon. lady seems to think is desireable? Is that really an alternative lifestyle that we want our children to see? Is it perverted, Mr. Chairman, to ensure that parents are capable of bringing up their children - in the end, nobody, and I hope that the Hon. member agrees with me here, wants child abuse or simple negligence.
