Description[?]:
Committee for Economic Reform Brief: The nations power structure is currently privately owned, while this has for some time provided some economic benefit there is the on going issue of supply and demand as compeating power grids create a disadvantage to those living within a power grid system. A person who is not happy with the company currently generating and providing power within their grid can not switch because the grid being private owned can not be sat up to provide another companies service to that said customer. If the power grid was owned and operated by the government such issues would no longer be an issue and the Government would increase its revenues by providing energy to the different distributors thoughout the nation. |

Message | Monsieur le président, Only the private sector has the kind of vast financial resources necessary to keep our power grid efficient, modern and competitive. The State simply cannot afford to invest the kind of resources it would take to match the performance of the private sector in the energy market; in order to find the money it would be necessary to return tax to its previous unacceptably high levels. The private sector has proven itself to be competent and capable in providing power to the nation. There is no reason to change that. Avril Reault Prime Minister |
