Message | We wish to know what benefits the Phillipsian Party has on this endeavor... We also wish to ask as to what context and reason this may be necessary. |
Date | 19:15:13, May 11, 2013 CET | From | Phillipsian Party of Ikradon | To | Debating the Proprietary Software Act |
Message | Maybe some voters will personally benefit from this, but certainly not our MP's or party leadership, as none of us are software developers. We know that certain companies like to use proprietary methods for their software. We disagree with it, but we feel it should be allowed to a limited extent. -Joe Phillips, Former President of Ikradon and Leader of the Phillipsian Party |

Message | The PDP is still on the fence. We wish to know more on both for and against before we make the symbolic vote. |

Message | We feel that patents are unethical and an impediment to progress. In the age of computing technology and the internet, information yearns to be free. We truly can have abundance when data can be copied, without losing access to the original. No one loses use of the product. The only concern is compensation for unique development of the software. That is what I had hoped to begin with my Bill for Youth Creativity. Spark an initiative for government compensation to inventors and innovators, instead of implementing a burdensome patent system which can only be abused. |

Message | Interesting point brought up by the SCI Libertarian-Socialist Syndicate (LL). We wish to hear more on this matter both for and against as we find that the only point truly made reasonable is the one against this bill. Unless a better argument can be made we see ourselves standing alongside the no in the coming vote. |

Random fact: In cases where players introduce RP laws to a nation and then leave, Moderation reserves the discretion to declare the RP laws void if they appear to have fallen into disuse. In particular, please bear in mind that a player who is inexperienced with Particracy role-play and has joined a nation as the only party there should not generally be expected to abide by RP laws implemented by previous players who have been and left. |
