| The Democratic Alliance feels it is of high importance to strive for greater relations with our northern neighbours. At the very minimum we believe this should involve renewing and strengthening our current, albeit anachronistic friendship treaty with the Holy Empire. The Holy Imperial Military is one of the strongest on Terra, and we feel that the Imperial Commonwealth must go on to create a strong, powerful military also. Strengthening ties with Luthori is one step towards this goal. It is obviously up to the discretion of Her Majesty's Chancellor and government how far we go with these relations. The DA feel we could and should beyond a simply treaty, and enter into an alliance including a mutual defence pact and joint military manoeuvres. We request the government and the Minister of Foreign Affairs strive to make these proposals a reality and enter into talks with the Holy Imperial government. OOC: This is occurring for a couple of reasons. I want a powerful IC, and I admire the current structure, empire and reputation that the Holy Empire has. Furthermore, it is also occurring due to talks of a major summer RP coming up. This could give us a lovely little head start. Thirdly, I wouldn't mind a new age of imperialism and colonialism. The IC could begin to strive to create an overseas empire, one way or another. Also, this act will require withdrawing from the current treaty, mainly due to it's out-of-date wording. |
