Bill: Establishment of the Principal Republic - 3487
Details
Submitted by[?]: Great National Republican Guard
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: December 3487
Description[?]:
Let us establish the "Principal Republic of Lodamun" - a republic where, unlike bourgeois monarchies, the people own the head of state. The Head of State will be controlled, collectively, by the members of the legislature who are elected to represent the people. The Head of State will be a puppet, with no rights of his own. He will not be human; he will be a function. He will just sign papers that he is ordered to sign, since we cannot waste money to buy ink for all the members of the legislature to sign the same paper. Purchase, of such ink, only contributes to profits for ink-production companies in other countries. The Head of State will have no powers. The members of the legislature will collectively exercise the authority of the Head of State, including the appointment/election of the Head of Government, etc. This is not to say that the individual will necessarily be bourgeois scum; if the individual has earned enough merit before being appointed as Prince, he may have a level of respect from the people that he deserves, and his influence over the people is up to the people. His rights and salary are also up to the people. We must create a circular flow of democracy, for unlike pyramids, a circle has no end. In bourgeois democracies, and monarchist pseudo-democracies, there is a pyramid structure which has ends. A triangle has 3 ends. Democracy ends 3 times. In Lodamun, our Democracy will never end. A monarch may not necessarily be a bad thing; he may eventually become an icon of Nationalism, which is good for Lodamun. Loyalty to this throne is loyalty to Lodamun, for it is the throne of the people. The people choose who sits on the throne, through the natural patterns of Democracy. |

Random fact: When it comes to creating a Cultural Protocol in a Culturally Open nation, players are not necessarily required to provide a plausible backstory for how the nation's cultural background developed. However, the provision of a plausible backstory may be a factor in whether Moderation approves the Cultural Protocol if players in surrounding nations question its appropriateness for their region of the game map. |
