MessageMr Speaker,

Once again, the Hon member proposes a ridiculous Bill that will gain next to no support. "Free Market" and "Employers cannot fire workers who have gone on strike" are complete opposites!

We cannot support the abolition of the minimum wage, as it provides a vital safety net for Rutanian workers. However, we whole-heartedly support prohibiting the firing of striking workers.

Unless the abolition of the minimum wage is removed, we will not support this Bill.

MessageMr. Speaker,

I'm really confused by the CWF. For a party which calls its self "Capitalist", they sure don't act like one and this bill is proof of that.

To the distinguished members of the Parliment:

(1) Under our proposals, it does NOT matter if the government "safety net" of a minimum wage of a miniscule 10 RUT per hour is abolished b/c workers can simply organize and bargain for a Collective bargaining PRIVATE contract where they are making 15-25 RUT per hour plus healthcare benefits, vacation pay, and a pension plan.

(2) We support abolition of the minimum wage in the instance that Unions and workers decide to bargain for a wage BELOW the legal limit at 5 RUT per hour in exchange of getting access to their company's lucrative profit-sharing plan.

The C-WFP yields the balance of our time.

OOC: UPR, do you consider Adam Smith (the Father of Capitalism) to be "anti-capitalist" as he ENDORSED unions in his book "Wealth of Nations"?! Also, Sen. Barry Goldwater (R-AZ) (The Father of Libertarianism) endorsed unions in his book "The Conscience of a Conservative." Why should only corporations "unionize" and not give that right to workers???
