This bill is an egregious violation of the Rutanian citizens' constitutional rights to own and bear firearms. Besides, how can the people have the last check against tyrannical government if the gov't DISARMS them???

There is no constitutional right to own and bear firearms.

MessageMr Speaker,

I have to endorse the Workers' Solidarity Movement in trying to speak some sense to the CWF. Besides, Mr Speaker, we cannot live with a blind and fanatical love for our constitution, which was written centuries ago. I mentioned fanaticism, but paranoia isn't a positive political trait either - I'm referring to the fact that the CWF seriously believes that citizens will be brutally oppressed by the government in the near future. Wake up, and perhaps more important: grow up.

To the distinguished members of the Social Radical Party:

So, what are your party members going to say to a young attractive woman jogging in the park when a thug assaults her and attempts to RAPE her??? Call the police??? By the time the police arrive, she would have already been brutally raped by the thug, BUT if she was armed with a Smith & Wesson semi-automatic firearm equipped with a mandatory trigger lock that she bought after undergoing a rigorous background check, her sexual dignity would have been spared. Therefore, we recommend that you grow up.

The C-WFP yields the balance of our time.

MessageMr Speaker,

Of course the woman's "sexual dignity" would have been spared, but at what cost? A life? Yes indeed. If you as a third party would have witnessed such a scenario, you should naturally have done anything you could to aid the victim even if it included using violence against the attacker, but no - a Smith & Wesson semi-automatic firearm equipped with a mandatory trigger lock is not the solution. Also, the "grow up" part of the Honourable Member of Parliament's opinion piece is completely irrelevant as I do not live in a dystopian movie fantasy world.

Ms Florence,

We support equipping all firearms with mandatory trigger locks (to prevent people's children from acquiring their parents' guns) as well as LASER AIMS so that the woman that is attacked can humanely shoot her victim in the leg and then run away.

best,
