Bill: Protection of Original Works Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Fendon Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 3501

Description[?]:

With the latest technologies corrupting the world (such as the internet) artist find themselves in dire need of something that protects their work. Many artists feel that they do not have the freedom to express themselves because the government of Lodamun offers no protection to our artists, who should be cherished members of the community.

For the sake of the scenarios listed above, the Fendon Party hereby proposes a change to our current copyright protection laws.

Under our current copyright law "Technology and art are part of the commons and are not protected by copyright."

Fendon proposes to make changes to this legislation with the following alternative:

-Works of technology and art are protected by copyright.

We, as politicians need to ensure that our people are protected in whatever manner we see fit. We need to make our artists feel safe in Lodamun, which consists of offering protection for all original works of art.

Random fact: Cultural Protocol bills must provide a real-life equivalent or short description for the ethnic groups, languages and religions contained in them, such that it would be easy for an unfamiliar player to understand (e.g. "Dundorfian = German"). Where appropriate, they should also provide guidance to players on where to find help with translations and character names. This might include, for example, links to Google Translate, Behind the Name's Random Name Generator and Fantasy Name Generators.

Random quote: "Erotic politicians, that's what we are. We're interested in anything about revolt, disorder, chaos and activity that appears to have no meaning." Jim Morrison
