Bill: Education reform
Details
Submitted by[?]: Freedom Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: January 3507
Description[?]:
Honourable members of parliament, Contrary to the beliefs of some, we do not hate education. We know that we can grant our children the best education possible for the lowest amount of money by ending public schools, but giving subsidies so that everyone can receive a good private education. The RLU and others who have introduced this completely socialistic education frankly doesn't deserve to be called liberal or anything else than socialists, as they seem to believe that only the government can manage things well. |

Message | Mr Speaker, we only support article 2. The other two articles keep government and bureucracy much bigger than it ought to be in a privatized system, which should, if implemented, be based on vouchers for disadvantaged families and not on universal subsidization. Message | Mr. Speaker, I for one will always support Dranland's public education system! Free public schools are the only way to ensure comprehensive nationwide education for all children, regardless of socioeconomic background. Privatizing education, a basic right of our citizens, would lead to further inequality between middle-and-upper-class and lower-class workers and farmers. Message | Mr Speaker, It appears to me that Mz. Rhys-Evans doesn't see the difference between government funding and government administration. Socialist public schools are what causes inequality by being second-class institutions for those less well of, the only way to ensure true equality, freedom of choice and competition inside the system is to pay everyone for getting a private education. Random fact: It is possible for a player to transfer ownership of a character or a royal house to another player. This should be done in a public way, such as on the Character Transfers thread, so that if a dispute arises in the future, Moderation can be pointed towards evidence of the transfer. |
Random quote: "The main problem of the left is that it has been traditionally divided and unable to reach agreements between different leftist views, whilst the right has almost always moved in the same direction by giving concessions to different rightist points of view." - Aelius Celer, former Selucian politician |
