MessageArticle 8 - Telephone lines should not be provided free. Infrastructure for such telephone services would be expensive and would come out of the government's cauffers, leaving little to invest in education and other social welfare services.

Article 9 - Monopolies would ruin Kafuristan's financial sector. Price fixing and low wages would exploit citizens of Kafuristan.

Article 11 - That would remove a lot of government income, thereby decreasing the national budget. The tax on luxury goods accounts for roughly one-quarter of the total revenues, 118,221,982,555 KAF. Total revenues amount to 460,917,076,954 KAF, and the national expenditure is 460,000,000,000 KAF. This leaves a surplus of 917,076,954 KAF. With a population of 99,787,173, we have ~ 9.17 KAF of spending power per capita. That hardly seems enough as is. With the luxury tax at 0%, the government gross income would be 342,695,094,399 KAF. Given the national expenditure, the government would net -117,304,905,601 KAF. We would be in debt, a debt that would continually increase without a luxury tax of some sort.

Random fact: In order for a Cabinet bill to pass, more than half of the legislature must vote for it and all of the parties included in the proposed Cabinet must support it. If your nation has a Head of State who is also the Head of Government, then the party controlling this character must also vote for the bill, since the Head of Government is also a member of the Cabinet. If any of these requirements are not met, the bill will not pass.
